Will include a balcony to utilise the view of the area.
Walk in robe - minimum 8 lineal meters of hanging.
Ensuite - bath and shower in one, toilet.
  • Minimum two other One general bedrooms
One other bedroom as he seemed fairly close to his family members (uncle, brother, maybe father) as they were his mentors in his career/working life. The bedroom will be made useful if they visit Piranesi as they are all based out of Australia (not counting on them visiting very often, though)
  • Bathroom associated with these two this bedrooms
Will include a bath and a separate shower. Located near the one bedroom.
  • Study / library
Study/library - his knowledge of various styles, engineering, ancient societies etc, may be all in the form of his books which would require a library for storage.
  • Guest bedroom
Will be fairly small as it will not be used too often.
  • Studio / workshop
Studio for him to do all the types of work he does - printmaking, etchings. Will be quite large in area as most of his time would be spent in the studio. Will include a gallery space for him to put up his work for viewing.
Will be 'hub of the house'.
  • Formal living room
Will include a fireplace.
  • Formal dining room
  • Informal family area
Unnecessary as he did not have his own family.
  • Kids play room
Unnecessary as he did not have any children.
  • WC
Would be located near his studio for convenience. (Or kitchen/living room)
  • Kitchen
Double wall oven, 2 bowl sink, island bench top with free standing range hood, walk-in pantry if possible.
  • Laundry
Washing machine, dryer, ironing area.
  • 2 car garage
And room for storage - where he could store his works that he does not want to display in his gallery area.

Relationships:
  • Bedrooms should be grouped together, the guest bedroom would be located near the public area.
  • Studio ('hub of the house') would be located near the public areas - kitchen, living room.
  • Walk in robe should be used as a buffer between the bedroom and ensuite. Can also be used as an entrance into bedroom suite, but then must have doors on robes to make it look better
  • Garage to have internal access from house, from the studio in particular to allow for convenience and ease for Piranesi to transport his work from his studio to the storage space in the garage. Also from a more public space - kitchen or living room.
Design notes:
  • Design and furnishing would be inspired by Ancient Etruscan, Greek, Roman, and Rococo style.
    • Over the top design.
    • Large windows for natural lighting
  • High ceilings within the house - will have two stories to include the use of stairs as is reflected in his work - the Drawbridge.
    • Stairs will have to be wide
  • Entrances - large archway entrances to different rooms - generally reflected in his work also.
